Our generosity doesn't need to stop there. There are other causes that also need our helping hands. If you need ideas about charitable causes to support, read on. Hopefully, this post can inspire you to give back and make other people's lives a little bit easier.
I am a mother, and children's well-being is a cause that hits close to home. Children are the backbones of our future. They are so pure and fragile. Unfortunately, there are millions of children who are born right into poverty, hunger, and crisis.
These innocent children need our help so they can get the best start in life that they deserve. To find more about the list of charities that help children, you can check it here.
I am a woman, so this cause also hits close to home, as I face challenges in one way or another. Women face so many challenges in their lives. Some of us women are free, yet the majority of women in the world are not. Be it from oppression, domestic violence, gender equality, human trafficking, limited access to healthcare and education, and other kind of maltreatments.
Empowering women may alleviate them from situations that jeopardize their lives. For a list of nonprofit organizations that help women, continue here.
3. Homeless People
For most of us, after a long day at work, we can go to a place we call home and be comfortable. Many don't have that kind of luxury. Can you imagine not having a bed to sleep on, and not having access to bathroom and clean water?
I have heard many inspiring stories how organizations help homeless people to get back on their feet. How empowerment bring back their lost dignity and teaches them skills that can assist them in bettering themselves. For a list of nonprofit organizations that help with homeless people and housing, continue here.
I love animals; any animals, although some creepy-crawlies really give me the creeps--but that's beside the point. Animals play huge roles in our ecosystem, and also as human companionship. Think of dogs and cats, but also endangered frogs in the tropical forest and whales in the deep blue sea.
Animals deserve to be treated with kindness. Wild animals need to stay in the wild. With issues like poaching, abandonment, nonethical practices on the meat industry, extinction, join the fight for animal welfare and find the list of nonprofit organizations here.
5. State and National Parks
I always feel this exhilarating feeling when I am at a state or national park. To be surrounded by nature, trees, lakes, creeks, animals--to be part of something bigger than you. To experience the quietness and the sound of the wilderness. It is liberating.
Our parks need to be conserved and protected so the future generations can enjoy them. Make an impact on our treasured parks, landscapes, and ecosystems. For a list of organizations that support parks preservations, continue here.
I can't stress enough how important a good, quality education is. I feel so blessed I had the opportunity to get a great education. It enables you to open doors easier, gives you the better opportunity, and, in turn, gives you a better quality of life.
There are so many charity organizations that support education. Use the list here as an aid to determine which organization you want to support.
7. Health and Illness
I have been living with a disabled family member, and recently my father became seriously ill. I believe this is one cause that we need to support. Cancer, autoimmune disease, communicable disease, chronic illness, and many more.
By supporting these causes, we may provide comfort to those who live with the disease, and perhaps also find ways to cure the illness. For a list of organizations that support this cause, continue here.
8. Veterans, Troops, and First Responders
I tip my hat for these brave women and men. Veterans, troops, and first responders sacrifice a great deal of their lives to the cause they hold dear in their hearts. While we curl up in bed at night, these courageous people such as military personnel, firefighters, paramedics, police officers, EMTs, rescue squads personnel, search and rescue personnel are probably going through some extreme situations on the ground.
For a list of organizations that support this cause, continue here, here, and here.
9. Donate Blood
This one is especially close to my heart. I never realized how important this cause was until my father became ill and needed a constant blood transfusion. As I watched the blood dripped from the bag to the IV line, I felt immense gratitude to the strangers who donated their blood so my father could get the treatment he needed.
If and when you can, donate blood. It can spare lives. Check with your local blood bank to find out more about the details. To give you an idea about the process, continue to read here.
